The Reach For A Dream Foundation has been making dreams come true since 1988

Since then they have brought hope to over 60 000 life-threatened children across South Africa.

Whatever the dream, no matter how big or small; they seek to make all dreams come true with the help of donors, sponsors and friends. Whether that dream is meeting Lewis Hamilton or having a princess party; it often gives the child hope and courage to carry on the fight. The fulfilment of these dreams inspires hope and courage in the dreamer and helps them believe that tomorrow is worth fighting for. For children attitude is everything and this is why they need all the encouragement they can get.

Slipper Day 2018 Launch

I’ve always had a soft spot for children – they are honest, innocent and they are shaping the future. So it was an honour when I was invited to attend the Slipper Day 2018 launch media breakfast at the Fire & Ice hotel in Illovo. Amongst those at the event were some of the Slipper Day ambassadors; including Jonathan Boynton-Lee, DJ Fresh, Amanda Du-Pont and Shashi Naidoo.

The morning was spent celebrating 30 years of the foundation, meeting a few of the inspirational dream children, hearing a few words on the foundation’s history, as well as a heartfelt memory shared by Boynton-Lee.

We also got a first look at the foundation’s slipper range, which is super cute! Anything from unicorns, minions, claw feet, sharks and bunnies, just to name a few – are available for purchase on their website.

Slipper Day is one of the foundation’s largest fundraisers and it’s easy to see why – because it’s so easy to make a difference!
