“Conversations with God” – a poem by Amanda Wolmarans

The whistle of wind, the rustle of leaves, the waves on the shore, and gravel under feet.

His words leaving others’ lips, His stories told in others’ books, His messages posted in letters on pages, the digital kind and the ones through the ages.

The blossoming flowers, and butterflies’ wings, and buzzing of bees, and singing of hymns.

He speaks to you. Are you listening?

He is listening. Do you speak to Him?

Cold tears streaming down faces, hands clutching, warm embraces. Satellites, and frequencies, human ears, and all heartbeats.

Through everything, He is listening.

Every street, every building, every body, every mind.

Every shout, every whisper, every thought.

Every kind.
