Took advantage of the Cape sunshine today with a picnic on the lawns at Buitenverwachting in Constantia. ☀️
They have a variety of food and platter options available but we chose to enjoy this veggie platter for two (R418) and some giant GnTs (R50 each).
The platter was plenty of food and could probably be shared by at least one or two others, depending on how hungry you are. It had a great selection of goodies with a variety of flavours for a full umami picnic experience. 👌🏼
We saw lots of other people enjoying the soft green lawns and beautiful shaded picnic spots. A visit to Buitenverwachting is definitely a great day out for friends and families alike!
PS. For those who are curious: our veggie platter had fresh bread, butter, tomato and cucumber skewers, patti pans, olives, gherkins, stuffed peppers, pepper slices with carrot and celery strips in hummus, watermelon, grapes, pear, dried apricots, almonds, an olive/feta/red pepper salad, some tasty marmalade, a red pepper cream cheese dip, a zesty pesto, corn fritters, a selection of cheeses, and a soft brownie.
